Screwed connections in built-up cold-formed steel members at ambient and elevated temperatures

چکیده
Screwed connections are commonly used in fabricating built-up cold-formed steel (CFS) members. However, the knowledge and understanding of their behaviour design limited. This research study investigated shear capacity screwed CFS It included a series tests between two single channel members as back-to-back members, failing by tilting bearing. Tests were conducted at both ambient elevated temperatures. Using results from these available literature, this has shown that equations for bearing current standards reliable temperature. then same can be to predict temperatures if they combination with proposed reduction factor temperature capacities. Details study, its findings presented paper.

Design of Cold-Formed Steel Screw Connections with Gypsum Sheathing at Ambient and Elevated Temperatures
Abstract: Load-bearing cold-formed steel (CFS) walls sheathed with double layers of gypsum plasterboard on both sides have demonstrated good fire resistance and attracted increasing interest for use in mid-rise CFS structures. As the main connection method, screw connections between CFS and gypsum sheathing play an important role in both the structural design and fire resistance of this wall sy...
متن کاملReview on Cold-Formed Steel Connections
The concept of cold-formed light steel framing construction has been widespread after understanding its structural characteristics with massive research works over the years. Connection serves as one of the important elements for light steel framing in order to achieve its structural stability. Compared to hot-rolled steel sections, cold-formed steel connections perform dissimilarity due to the...
متن کاملLocal and Distortional Buckling of Cold-Formed Steel Members
Laminar structures have a high post-buckling strength reserve. Cold-formed steel profiles can be taken as a set of thin plate elements. Therefore it is necessary to design this type of profiles taking into account that reserve of strength in post-local buckling modes of failure. The method normally used to design this type of structures is based on the Effective Width concept. The Effective Wid...
متن کاملCyclic Behavior of Cold-Formed Steel Stud-to-Sheathing Connections
This series of experiments aims to characterize the cyclic behavior of cold-formed steel (CFS) stud-to-sheathing connections. This connection provides the key energy dissipating behavior in wood sheathed CFS shear walls, and provides bracing to the studs under gravity and out-of-plane loads. A simple testing rig is developed consisting of two CFS lipped channels facing toe-to-toe connected on t...
متن کاملStructural behavior of cold-formed stainless steel bolted connections
This paper presents a series of tests on cold-formed stainless steel bolted connections. The test specimens were fabricated from three different types of stainless steel, including austenitic stainless steel EN1.4301 (AISI 304) and EN1.4571 (AISI 316Ti having small amount of titanium) as well as lean duplex stainless steel EN1.4162 (AISI S32101). The material properties of the three types of st...
